Maps, weather and other external resources may receive ordinary technical request information under their own privacy terms.
Information stored on your device
Saved Places and Checklists, selected language and certain trip-planning choices use browser storage on your device. This allows the feature to remember your choices without creating an account or a server-side My Tamil Nadu profile.
Browser-stored information normally remains in that browser on that device until you clear the relevant feature, clear site data or use browser controls to remove it. It may not appear on another device or browser and can be lost when browser data is cleared. Do not use these features as the only record of essential travel information.
Near Me and location permission
Near Me asks the browser for location only after you choose to use your current location. You may deny the request and continue through supported manual location choices. Browser or operating-system controls can be used to withdraw permission later.
When permission is granted, coordinates are used in page memory to rank published places by approximate straight-line distance. The Near Me feature does not place those coordinates in the page URL or save them to LocalStorage. Your browser, device and location provider may process the permission request under their own policies.
Maps and external websites
The interactive Maps experience loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap infrastructure. Choosing a Google Maps handoff opens Google’s service. External links may also lead to government departments, institutions, transport providers, tourism resources or other websites used for context and current verification.
When your browser requests an external resource or you follow an external link, the provider may receive ordinary request information such as your IP address, browser details, referring page and time of access. External services control their own cookies, accounts, logs and privacy practices. My Tamil Nadu does not control those practices.
Weather and current information
Tamil Nadu Today requests available current information through the site’s server endpoints. Those endpoints may obtain weather data from Open-Meteo and, only when separately configured and available, official alert data from the India Meteorological Department. Event and notice information may also be provided through reviewed site data.
The hosting provider and any external data provider involved in a request may process standard technical information needed to deliver, secure and diagnose the service, including IP address, request time, browser details and requested resource. My Tamil Nadu should show an unavailable state when a reliable current service cannot respond rather than require additional personal information from the reader.
Email enquiries
The public contact address is rathishblog@gmail.com. When you send an email, you choose what information to provide. Your name, email address, message, attachments and other details you include will be processed by your email provider, the receiving email provider and My Tamil Nadu for the purpose of reading and responding to the enquiry.
Email may be retained where reasonably needed to manage the enquiry, document a correction, address a rights concern or maintain an appropriate record of a commercial discussion. Do not send passwords, payment-card details, identity documents, precise private location information or other sensitive personal data unless it is genuinely necessary and an appropriate secure method has been agreed.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
The current public build does not include a web analytics tracker and does not set advertising cookies through My Tamil Nadu’s own scripts. Browser storage used for saved places, checklists, language and planning preferences is described above and is not an advertising profile.
Essential hosting systems and third-party resources may still use logs, cookies or similar technical mechanisms under their own policies when their services are requested. If analytics, personalised advertising or another cookie-based service is introduced later, this policy and any required consent controls should be updated before or alongside that change.
The website may display advertising or use affiliate links in the future or where clearly disclosed. Following an external commercial link takes you to another provider, whose privacy and transaction terms apply.
Server logs and security
Like most hosted websites, the hosting and delivery environment may keep technical logs needed to provide the site, investigate errors, prevent abuse and maintain security. These can include IP address, date and time, requested URL, response status, browser or device information and referring page. The precise operation and retention of infrastructure logs are controlled by the relevant hosting or service provider.
No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. My Tamil Nadu aims to limit the information its own public features require and does not ask readers to create an account for the current discovery and planning tools.
Your choices
- Use browser controls to deny or withdraw location permission.
- Clear Saved Places, checklists and other site data through the relevant feature or browser settings.
- Avoid sending unnecessary personal or sensitive information by email.
- Review the privacy terms of Google Maps, OpenStreetMap infrastructure, weather providers and other external websites before using their services.
- Contact My Tamil Nadu to ask about information you have voluntarily provided by email.
External links and children
My Tamil Nadu links to external websites for maps, sources, travel context and current verification. A link does not mean that My Tamil Nadu controls the destination or its privacy practices. Review the destination’s policy before providing personal information or completing a transaction.
The website is a general-audience information service and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children through accounts or forms. Parents and guardians should guide younger users when they follow external links or use location-enabled services.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be revised when features, data providers, advertising practices or legal requirements change. The review date at the top identifies the version currently described. Material changes should be reflected on this page rather than assumed to apply silently.
